 Hey Fabulous Followers! Monday, October 21, 2024 was our last day in London. Hard to believe that 13 days and nights went so quickly! We spent this day on a very long and tiring trip, but it was so worth it! We bought tickets to see Windsor Castle, Stonehenge and Bath and we were given instructions on where to meet; the meeting time was 7:45 with departure of 8am (I know that is so early for me). We got up at 6am and were on the Tube by 7am.  We could not find the place.  We made our way to the place we thought was correct and was told "oh, this is the only tour that does not leave from here." The man gave us instructions and hoped we got there in time. Well, it is obvious Joe and I did not hear the instructions well and who can find a street sign when they are located next to or on the side of buildings!  Finally, I looked at Joe and said this isn't working, let's just go back to where we were.  I wanted to cry.  Hello Fabulous Followers! This blog catches us up to date. YEA! Before I start on the REAL TEAL stuff, let me say Joe and I went to Piccadilly Circus Saturday for a little shopping and to say we been there.  It is a very crowded area with New York Times Square vibe and this is where you can see "Broadway" shows at the West End. We left for our "home" and picked up our laundry from a service at the Tube.  My cousin, Marcia, tickled me when I told her (she and I text every day).  Her response was "you have gone from Crown Jewels to Globe Theatre to Tube Laundry."  Another new experience since I have never used a laundry service. But when you stay at 1 place for 13 nights, eventually clothes have to be cleaned. We then ventured to a pub where a Jags party was going on.  We didn't have tickets, so we stood outside about an hour before allowed inside.  It was exhausting cause we probably were on our feet for over 3 hours.  On Thursday, October, 17, 2024, Richard and Beth left to go home.  Joe and I thoroughly enjoyed our time with them as they hosted us in seeing the sights of London. Well Joe and I are on our own and with a few hiccups, we are navigating the Tube system. Thursday and Friday - October 17 & 18, 2024 - have been low key days.  I did not feel the best and we slept in and did shopping and focused on food. On Thursday, we ate a great breakfast and took a trial run to Wembley Stadium, so it will be less stressful on Sunday as the Jaguars host the New England Patriots. We ate a late lunch/early dinner at the Global Buffet at the stadium.  It had every ethnic food group represented and was quite tasty. On Friday, October 18, 2024 slept in, ate a good breakfast and went shopping at Camden Market.  Wednesday, October 16, 2024 Wednesday was a memorable day spent with Richard and Beth.  The day started at the British Museum - it is so massive we split up into couples and agreed to meet back 2.5 hours later.  Joe and I saw the following: The Holy Thorn Reliquary, a medieval masterpiece with a thorn from the crown of crucifixion The Lewis Chessman, most famous chess set in the world OxusTreasure, famous metalwork from Iran The Portland Vase, Roman inspiration of Wedgwood The Rosetta Stone, the key to deciphering hieroglyphics Assyrian Lion Hunt reliefs, an ancient king's triumph over nature Parthenon Sculptures, conic sculptures from ancient Greece Here are some pictures. After resting, and thanks again to Rick Steves (thanks Rick), we ate at the Swan restaurant next to Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.  Oh!
