Mojo Road Trip 2024 Summary - There is No Place Like Home

Hello Fabulous Followers!  Wow, we have been together for 27 days - can you believe how the time has flown?  Can you believe all we have seen? This trip has been amazing.  As a reminder, the purpose of the trip was to spend a long weekend with family in Saranac Lake, New York.  And man, did we have a great time spending time together - talking, playing, fishing, kayaking and just sitting around enjoying conversation and laughs.  Joe did not want to fly up just for this weekend and asked if he and I could do a road trip.  So, I crafted this agenda and started the work last November.  I am proud of the agenda and it worked out so successfully!  Every location was amazing and all the accommodations have been clean, comfy and so nice. To be honest, I had angst and trepidation over the trip.  What ifs plagued me.  What if the car breaks down? What if we don't like a place reserved? What if we get sick?  What ifs???  So I told myself...

Hello Fabulous Followers!  After sleeping in till 11am today, we ventured out to Sylva, North Carolina.  Such a cute town with a population of 3000.  Lots of cute shops, dining and just plain ole charm. On Yelp, I found a place to eat called Breadheads' Tiki Shak. Oh my!  Fell in love with this place!! Love the decor! Love the food! Love the owners!  Husband and wife who moved from Lake Worth, FL to open their own restaurant with their own spins to tasty food.  Joe got chicken tacos with onion, tomato and avocado.  I had a Cuban that was off the chain! Below is mac and cheese nugs with a spicy sauce!  Mmmm mmmm good. Delicious dessert - a spin off of elephant ears at a county fair. And we became honorary Tiki Shak fans and the owner took our picture with a Polaroid!  and we are on the wall! If you are near Sylva, North Carolina check out this cute town and Breadheads' Tiki Shak. Well, we are taking a little rest and then later head to ...

Mojo Road Trip 2024 Day 25 June 27, 2024 - Homeward Bound

Hey Fabulous Followers!  We are tired today.  9 hours driving and we arrived at Cherokee Harrah's to spend a couple of nights.  The first thing we did before checking in was eat at Granny's Diner.  Oh my!  I am so glad to be back in the South!  The buffet had fried chicken, meatloaf, beef, corn, green beans, fried okra, potatoes, salad, soup and dessert.  Yum, yum.  We were hungry after not eating today. We drove through Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee and North Carolina.  So many mountains and hills and green trees and 2 tunnels. Oh!  And 3 tolls at $4.25 each thanks to West Virginia's turnpike. The scenery was gorgeous though. West Virginia's capital was beautiful. I am exhausted and headed for nite nite.  I am thankful to God for safe travels today. See ya tomorrow.  Blessings!

Mojo Road Trip 2024 Day 24 June 26, 2024 - Touchdown!!

Hello Fabulous Followers!  Today we went to Canton's Football Hall of Fame.  Wait, wait, wait, before you say I don't like football and who cares about going there?!  Let me explain...we are a family of football lovers - it is a great team sport to watch.  It elicits a realm of emotions - happy, sad, tears, anger, irritation, frustration, resignation, shock, joy.  Every emotion possible can be felt following football, especially if you are a Jaguars fan like we are. Let me add another perspective, the female perspective.  I, personally, like big men and I love to watch big men in tights (especially black tights) play.  They are so fine, so hot....see!  a whole range of emotions can be elicited watching those guys bend, squat and swat each other on the hiney.   Football provided a positive outlet for some who could have taken a wrong turn in life.  I loved seeing the room with all the busts of those who are in the Hall of Fame....
