Mojo Road Trip 2024 Day 21 June 23, 2024 - Hey Luuuucccy!!

 

Hello Fabulous Followers!  I know, I know, you have been waiting with bated breath wondering when the next blog will be published.  Well, you can exhale and relax....here it is!

After a rushed couple of days, we left Canada, crossed the border and back in the USA. We are in a hotel in Erie, Pennsylvania about 3 hours from the Niagara Falls.  Before getting here, we were deciding what to do.  Let me tell you one thing about traveling, you meet people who have their own travel stories.  Well when we were in the Amish village, we met a couple who told us about Jamestown, New York, the home of Lucille Ball and where she is buried.  So, we think why not?  We will go see what we can see.  Well, let me tell you.......it is a cute little town.  And there is a Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum and the National Comedy Museum. So we start out at the Lucy Desi museum and had a blast.  We paid extra to have pictures made in their apartment. 

Aren't we just the cutest???  We just can't help it. Had a nice time seeing Lucy and Desi and their life together personally and professionally.

Then we spent a couple of hours at the National Comedy Museum.  We wished we could have stayed longer.  Saw the creators of The Johnny Carson Show and Laugh In. On Laugh In, the producers never let Goldie Hawn rehearse.  When she was on stage she was performing the skit for the first time.  They liked her making mistakes, because she would laugh.  Everyone loved her laugh.

We visited the Blue Room.  This is comedians who began to perform "dirty" skits and began saying the "dirty" words (there are 7 of them)...don't worry I won't repeat them.  Evidently, Vaudeville had wholesome skits with innuendoes. If there was a skit that was bawdy, it would be written down and would be considered blue material to not be repeated.

If you are in Jamestown, NY you must visit Arctic Bites.  It was recommended by a museum staff employee and it was so good.  The food at Niagara Falls was so-so.  It is much a touristy town.  Our best meal in Niagara was a Japanese restaurant.

Well, lo and behold Arctic Bites was Asian.  We got hibachi chicken and fried dumplings.  It is delivered quickly and hot....I like my food served hot (I don't like to eat tepid or cold food, if it is supposed to be hot).  We were both looking for a nice hot meal with veggies and this is what the doctor ordered!  We even shared Thai ice cream...yum yum.

Today, was a great day.  When visiting these museums, there was lots of opportunities to laugh.  If you know me well, when I laugh, I do it out loud and heartily.....well I was heard today. Humor is good medicine and it has been a key ingredient in our marriage. Best friends and laughter - that's what makes our Mojo strong!

We don't have to check out til noon tomorrow, so we may lounge in the morning.  We are headed to Kent, Ohio which is outside Cleveland.  We will be meeting up with friends.  Don't worry you will meet them. Stay tuned.
