France 2025 - Sleeping Beauty

 

Bon Jour Fabulous Followers!  Let's catch up.  Over a year and a half ago, Joe and I made a decision to travel to France.  Pam, remember her, our travel agent friend?  We were in Iceland and Greenland last month with her.  Pam put together a group to travel by AmaWaterways river cruise from north to south France.

Since the travel group was flying from JFK to Paris, Joe and I decided to do the same. Back story: my dear friend, Margo, in April of 2024 told me about 10x Travel.  A way to earn points with credit cards and use the points for travel.  For the last year and a half, I have been immersed in this hobby.  Well, the studying, the strategizing and learning paid off and Joe and I booked business class seats on AirFrance from JFK to Paris using points.

When we got on the plane, I felt like country come to town.  We were shittin' in high cotton.  Now that is a saying from my South Georgia family....if you have high cotton, then it is a bumper crop.  So if you are pooping in it, you are doing good. It was the best plane ride ever! We had our own tv, headphones, cushion for the seat, pillow, blanket, slippers, travel bag with toothbrush and toothpaste, drinks, dinner...!  We could lie straight back to sleep.  I even felt comfortable enough to walk in my slippers to the bathroom.  That was the cleanest airplane bathroom I ever experienced.

I looked over at my love and the above picture was what I captured. I truly felt blessed to have this experience.  

We landed at Charles de Gaulle and stayed 2 nights at the Maison Astor hotel.  This hotel was originally built by John Jacob Astor IV and was his personal home. He was a rich US businessman who died on the Titanic.

For 2 days we enjoyed walking around Paris and visiting Montmartre, known for its basilica, artists selling their works and nightclub life. I enjoyed a cheese crepe on the Champs Elysees....ooh la la!

 Hello Fabulous Followers!  Joe and I have embarked upon another travel adventure - 40 days!  The first part of our journey lasts 20 days in France, traveling with a group led by our travel agent, Pam. We are on a AmaWaterways river cruise that started in Paris and navigating the Seine River northward. Now, I usually start a blog with the beginning of our journey (and I will catch you up), but I have been led in a different direction after today's experience. Today, we traveled to the beaches of Normandy and the American cemetery at Normandy.  We sang the National Anthem, had a flower bearing ceremony, listened to Taps and had a moment of silence. The veteran gentleman who presented the flowers is a member of our group.  What a touching moment! Mojo Rants and Blunders - France & More 2025

  Hey Fabulous Followers!  Yes, we have been back for 2 weeks, but voices in my head still wants me to write this blog.  These voices and thoughts have been in my head during our trip and they want out, so here goes! WARNING:  Some comments below are honest, true feelings and blunt. I have a few rants about this trip.   1. Europeans have better food, walk, take public transporation, and are mostly smaller than we Americans, but they like to smoke!  If you know me well, I abhor smoke, nicotine, tobacco, vaping, e-cigarettes. Go to a restaurant and the first thing they give you is an ashtray.  No way Jose, take that thing away!! But these people smoke and blow it in your face.  There were a few times, I thought about throat punching a few people. But I didn't, cause I am so sweet, but when I could I blew back in their face. Mojo Does Mexico January 2026

  Hey Fabulous Followers! This blog is dedicated to my Aunt Alice whom I called Auntie Mama! After my mom died, I coined the name Auntie Mama.  Aunt Alice looked a lot like my mom and people at times thought I was her daughter. Joe and I decided over a year ago to take this trip that was earned in a casino.  Since I was provided a balcony room for 2, I decided to upgrade to a junior suite with a sunset balcony. This means our room was in the aft or back of the ship.  It is an unbelievable sized balcony where we spent lots of time enjoying our private paradise.
